Flagstaff House Restaurant Receives Mobil Four-Star Award for the 28th Consecutive Year

BOULDER, CO – Celebrating 35 years, the Flagstaff House Restaurant just received the 2007 Mobil Four-Star Award. Only five restaurants in Colorado received a Mobile Four-Star Award rating for 2007. According to Shane O'Flaherty, Vice President of Quality Assurance for Mobil Travel Guide, "Mobil Travel Guide's rating process minimizes subjectivity, enabling us to provide expert, objective guidance that travelers can trust. Because our process is the most stringent on the market today, the results - the Mobil Star-rated properties we recognize today – are rightfully in a class of their own."

Chef Mark Monette of Boulder’s Flagstaff House offers celebrity status to home chefs with his signature sauces, sides and dessert via
“ready to cook”  Thanksgiving dinner for four

Boulder, Colorado – Executive Chef Mark Monette is offering a rare opportunity to order online a complete chef-created gourmet Thanksgiving dinner from the four-star Flagstaff House Restaurant —shipped to America’s front door.

Chef Monette, whose signature Colorado Lamb dish was recently featured on Food Network’s ”Road Tasted” with Jamie and Bobby Deen, has put together a ”ready to cook” gourmet feast that will make families everywhere wish every day was Thanksgiving.

“Since online orders for our Colorado lamb entrée have been so popular with diners nationwide, we wanted to follow up with something special for the holiday season,” said Mark Monette, Executive Chef and Partner of the Flagstaff House Restaurant. “We created a complete, chef-prepared Thanksgiving dinner of fresh organic free range turkey with seven accompanying dishes, sauces and trimmings – the same meal our family enjoys every holiday season.  Our Thanksgiving dinner is shipped overnight from our kitchen to yours – ready for cooking, serving and enjoying.”

Chef Monette’s Thanksgiving Dinner for Four—From Soup to Nuts

FIRST COURSE
• To tease the palate, Chef Monette presents a first course of Colorado-grown organic roasted butternut squash soup, gently seasoned with winter spices.  Just heat and serve.

MAIN COURSE
• Fresh organic free range turkey with Chef Monette’s personally prepared seasoning pack, ready to roast.  Allow about 2 ½ - 3 hours roasting time.
• To accentuate the turkey’s juices, Chef Monette has included his specialty port wine sauce, which is an all natural veal reduction sauce that contains no additives or preservatives.  Before shipping, this signature sauce goes through a 36-hour reduction process at the restaurant to give the sauce its beautiful sheen, flavor and texture.  Just simmer and serve.

SIDES
• Accompanying the succulent turkey is a creamy gratin of thin-sliced Yukon Gold and sweet potatoes, carefully layered and blended with nutmeg, tarragon and cream. Allow about 45 minutes warming time.
• Especially for the holiday, the Monette family is sharing its traditional dressing made from brioche bread and expertly seasoned with sage, rosemary and thyme.  Allow 45 minutes warming time.
• In place of traditional cranberry sauce, Chef Monette’s online Thanksgiving dinner includes a unique tomato jelly made from a family recipe of fresh tomatoes, sugar, white wine vinegar, and cinnamon and clove-infused lemon rind.  Ready to serve.
• The Flagstaff House’s superb dinner rolls complement the meal.  Ready to heat and serve.

DESSERT
• Rounding out the online Thanksgiving dinner is Chef Monette’s own Pumpkin Chai Cheesecake with macadamia nut crust.  This dessert draws rave reviews from Flagstaff House diners. Ready to serve.

To ensure adequate quantities are available for delivery in advance of the Thanksgiving holiday, orders must be placed by November 16, 2006, online at www.shopflagstaffhouse.com, or by calling the restaurant at (303) 442-4640.

Cost for the complete handcrafted gourmet dinner for four is $178 plus overnight shipping and handling charges.  All orders will be shipped fresh and by overnight delivery on Monday Nov. 20 to arrive in advance of Thanksgiving.

Flagstaff House Restaurant Receives Coveted Grand Award from Wine Spectator for 23rd Consecutive Year

One of Colorado's most award-winning restaurants is one of only two that received this prestigious award

BOULDER, CO - Celebrating 35 years of providing award-winning mountainside dining with inspiring views of Boulder and the Front Range , the Flagstaff House Restaurant announced today it has received the coveted Grand Award from Wine Spectator magazine.  Only two restaurants in all of Colorado have received the Grand Award, and the Flagstaff House is the only restaurant to earn this award for 23 consecutive years.

“Our 160-page wine list has been a family passion dating back to our founding in 1971,” said Don Monette, founder and partner in the Flagstaff House Restaurant.  “We are proud to once again receive the Grand Award, Wine Spectator’s most prestigious award.  As with our award-winning cuisine and service, the creation of our wine cellar began in 1971 and has grown to become one of the largest in the state.  We have always strived to show our passionate commitment to quality and depth in our ever-growing wine list.

“In its 26th year, Wine Spectator's Restaurant Awards program continued its consistent growth.  The number of award holders has increased every year since 1999 and now stands at 3,772 wine-friendly restaurants, making our 2006 Dining Guide the world's most comprehensive list of restaurants that take wine seriously,” said Samantha Shanken Baker of Wine Spectator.  “Awards are given on three levels, with the Grand Award as our top honor. Since its inception in 1981, the Grand Award has honored those select restaurants that offer exceptional quality with their wine programs. These are destination restaurants for wine lovers; they offer a trove of mature vintages and showcase the world's best producers while providing superior service and cuisine. We applaud the Flagstaff House for achieving our highest award for the past 23 consecutive years.”

Beginning in 1983, the Flagstaff House has earned yearly the coveted Wine Spectator's Grand Award.  The restaurant’s wine cellar of over 20,000 bottles, one of the largest in the state, includes great depth in California Burgundy, Bordeaux, and Champagne .  It also emphasizes great wines from around the world, including:

* One of the largest collections of Domaine Romanee-Conti Grand Cru Burgundies
* One of the world's few complete Chateau Mouton Rothschild Collection Artist, "Artist Paintings of the labels since 1945"
* Australia's Penfolds Bin 95 Grange Hermitage, over 20 vintages

The Flagstaff House’s wine list also include an extensive list of boutique wineries from around the world, including Araujo Estate Eisele vineyard, Dalla Valle Vineyards Maya, Harlan Estate, and Leonetti Cellar.

ABOUT WINE SPECTATOR

Founded in 1976, Wine Spectator is a lifestyle magazine that focuses on wine.  Since 1976 it has grown to become the largest wine magazine in the world.  In 2005, paid circulation was over 382,000 and the magazine reached an estimated 2.25 million readers worldwide.  In 1985, its panel of experts blind tasted and reviewed over 12,400 wines.  Each of the 16 issues per year contains a large section devoted to wine reviews.  Its ratings are believed to have an important impact on the wine market.

The influential magazine organized and sponsored the Wine Spectator Wine Tasting of 1986 on the 10th anniversary of the historic Paris Wine Tasting of 1976.  This blind re-evaluation of the red wines earlier tasted found that California wines aged better than did their French competitors including Château Haut-Brion, Château Mouton-Rothschild, Château Montrose, and Château Leoville Las Cases.
