Yixing teapots originated from the Yixing region east of China. Yixing teapots possess an astonishing history dating back to Sung Dyanasty (960-1279) when Purple Clay was first discovered. They flourished and matured in the late Ming and Quing Dynasties (1573-1911). They are renown as the "best vessels for brewing" by Chinese tea aficionados. Artistically, every Yixing teapot has its own unique style.
